The VPN Firewall allows up to 253 users to share secure access to the Internet through a single broadband connection. This consolidation saves money by eliminating the need to purchase and maintain multiple lines and IP addresses.The 3Com OfficeConnect VPN Firewall protects networks by preventing unauthorized network access using a stateful packet inspection firewall and blocking denial of service (Dos) and other attacks, and by encrypting traffic traveling across the Internet. The VPN firewall supports IP security (IPSec) DES, 3DES and AES-128 VPN protocols as well as PPTP and L2TP protocols, to provide wide flexibility in the choice of VPN communication. The firewall offers advanced traffic management and filtering features such as traffic shaping, which prioritizes outbound and inbound traffic on selected service ports to make sure there is sufficient bandwidth for voice and multimedia. With simple setup wizards and an intuitive web browser interface, the firewall is designed to be easy to use for the novice user, yet flexible enough for more complicated configurations.This product comes with 3Com OfficeConnect Content Filter.The 3Com OfficeConnect Content Filter Service, an optional enhancement for the 3Com OfficeConnect VPN Firewall, enforces acceptable web usage policies to improve productivity and reduce wasted Internet bandwidth. The service helps ensure Internet access is used for business-related activities, and provides protection from legal and social liabilities related to unacceptable web content.The web-based subscription service requires little setup and administration. Simply check the boxes in the categories you want restricted and activate the service. The web site filter database is located on an externally hosted server, accessed in real time by the 3Com OfficeConnect VPN Firewall. The hosted service eliminates the need to download the database and continually make room for the ever-growing list of unacceptable URLs. And your protection is always up to the minute because content is filtered using a continually updated database.
